EVENTS


The first oil gushed out at well 6 on Zhetybai oil field in Mangystau in 1961.

In 1998 President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and 1st President of Russia Boris Yeltsin signed the Eternal Friendship and Cooperation Treaty between Kazakhstan and Russia.

In 2000 President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev decreed to name the Opera and Ballet Theather after Kulyash Baisseitova and awarding the status of the National Theatre.

In 2000 President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev unveiled the monument to Sultan Beibars in Atyrau.

In 2001 the monument honoring great scientist Shokan Ualikhanov was erected at the Shchyuchinsk cadet corps.

The monument to Bogenbay Batyr opened in the capital of Kazakhstan in 2007.

The Customs Union of Kazakhstan, Belarus and Russia came into force in 2010. It was signed in Akorda by the Heads of State at the EurAsEC meeting.

18-year-old Kazakh girl Maria Mudryak received the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi graduation diploma in 2012.

Nomad innovation yurt solemn presentation took place in Almaty in 2012.

In 2013 Kazakhstan ranked among the top 50 economies in ease of doing business.

In 2018 the monument to people's artist of the Kazakh SSR, greatest Kazakh actor Nurmukhan Zhantorin unveiled in Aktau under the Rukhani Janghyru program.

In 2018 CIS Heads of State took part in the production of a new documentary about Astana. The Presidents shared their views on the capital of Kazakhstan.

Astana-alsh armany expo opened in 2018 at the National Manuscripts and Rare Books Centre.

The Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) was inaugurated in Astana in 2018.
